Patrick Ward, CSCP, CCS

Patrick Ward is the founder of ISC, and focuses on supply chain management, quality control, and logistics management for a diverse set of clients globally.

Ward founded ISC after working as a consultant to clients ranging from large companies expanding into mass market retailers to small startups establishing their first manufacturing partnerships. From 2019 to mid-2020, Ward managed accounts such as Target and TJX for greeting card manufacturer and retailer Minted on an exclusive basis. Prior to that, he established a direct-to-consumer furniture company with a supply chain encompassing multiple factories and logistics providers across both China and Mexico. In 2008, Ward co-founded Northstar Balloons and Packaging, a manufacturer of metallic balloons and flexible packaging based in Minnesota. Over 6 years with the company, he held multiple leadership roles including managing manufacturing and leading sales across all of Latin America.

Ward has deep experience working with quality control groups, logistics vendors, and overseas and domestic manufacturers. He received an MBA from the University of California, Davis and a BA from Middlebury College, where he majored in Spanish and International Politics. He is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), holds a Certificate in Basic Flexographic Printing, and is fluent in Spanish.

Elizabeth Carter, CBCP

Elizabeth Carter is the principal of ISC, and leads the company’s resilience, business continuity, cybersecurity, and crisis management practice areas.

Carter has worked as a senior-level resilience consultant since 2018, and most recently served as a Director with BDO USA’s Risk and Resilience team where she oversaw projects for major companies across the retail, technology, biotechnology/pharma, energy, and real estate sectors. She continues to run projects for BDO as an independent contractor.

From 2016 to 2018, Carter led crisis management for the Americas at Apple, where she was responsible for responding to incidents and protecting the company’s operations, personnel, and facilities throughout North and South America. Her experience also includes five years as a Senior Director and Director with boutique consulting firm The Chertoff Group in Washington, DC, where she worked with public and private sector clients on supply chain security, cyber, crisis management, health preparedness, and infrastructure protection projects. She previously served as Plan Manager, Weapons of Mass Destruction, with New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM).

Carter received her Master of Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University and a BA in History from Yale University. She also holds the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation.
